Sound School is a program for teaching foundation literacy skills with children 2 years and over.
Sound School teaches letter-sounding association by using:
• letter-characters
• auditory awareness of speech sounds
• articulatory cueing
• story narrative
• themes of relevance and interest
These aspects combined, encourage and excite children to begin their literacy journey. Young learners are so completely entertained and engaged, that learning becomes incidental.
-
HOW WAS SOUND SCHOOL DEVELOPED?
Sound School was developed by Speech, Language and Literacy Clinicians, Romi Levin & Robyn Gamsu, using evidence based research in the field of early literacy development.
-
HOW DOES SOUND SCHOOL WORK?
Sound School (Pre-School book) explores the speech sounds corresponding to 20 consonants, 5 short vowels and 4 digraphs. The order in which the letter sounds are introduced, follows developmental acquisition of speech sounds and allows children to begin building words as early as possible.

WHICH CHILDREN DOES SOUND SCHOOL ASSIST?
Sound School helps every child, regardless of academic aptitude. With Sound School, any child can learn their letters and sounds in a fun and interactive way!
